GFGI: Blogtober14

I've been accused more than once that I am a know it all. Typically it has a negative connotation when my husband tells me that but I've also had people use it as a term of endearment and appreciation.

It isn't that I really am that smart-it is just that I am an expert at googling. I also love to read and have the ability to super speed read so I can get a lot of info in a very short amount of time. 

I wish that I had had this ability while I was in school-I didn't really develop it until my first full time nanny job where the baby slept a ton and had to have a completely quiet environment. So basically I spent several hours a day online, just reading article after article. 

I try hard not to come off arrogant or that I know more than someone else-I am pretty self conscious about it. I also am

quick to admit when I don't know something but will immediately research any topic I'm not familiar with so I can be knowledgeable. 

I think I am this way because in high school, even though I was "gifted" and qualified to be in the higher honors classes I chose not to be. I did get a lower quality of education compared to my best friends. I often felt left out of conversations when they would talk about what they were learning and even though I knew I wasn't-I often felt dumb around them. 

So in return, I just started to try to learn as much as I could on my own. Before the Internet was big (and that first nanny job) I can remember going to the library and just going through book after book about random things. I also picked up an adoration for magazines-they helped me learn a lot in easily digested formats. 

Luckily I don't think I annoy too many people with me coming across as a know it all-though secretly(or maybe not so secret), I really would love to be one!
